The campground is tucked back in the forests like a little camping gem. All the sites are very well kept and surrounded by trees for some privacy. I especially appreciated the cleaning stations and the well kept facilities. The family that runs it is very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend for a vacation in this beautiful area.
Having read the reviews of the other campgrounds nearby (in the valley) about the train noise we opted to come here. We arrived after hours - about 6pm - without a reservation and were offered 2 spots. Both narrow and sloping in permanent shade. We tried to choose the widest one as we have awnings both sides. We had to reverse so far back into the pitch we couldn't use the fire pit. Even then, with levelling blocks, it wasn't level.
We'd had a long day and needed to set up before dark.
My husband walked round the site & saw better, level vacant sunny pitches - they're all the same price.
For $63 a night it really isn't good value.
You can hear the trains but you're not on top of them.
We had a full water tank, thankfully as the water taps are inches from the sewer outlet - at the same level 🤥
The toilets were clean, the showers have seen better days & need updating (concrete floors and mouldy walls). Also to pay for showers on top of the high nightly rate isn't on. Like another reviewer, if you have no choice go here, otherwise carry on or buy ear defenders.
The owner is very nice and helpful. Location is not ideal - off a narrow winding road into a even narrower, winding and much road elevation. No road noise. Campground very wooded. Sites are gravel not level. The the area is minimal size - no grass. The campground is clean. Has fire pit and picnic tables. I did not use the public bathroom/shower. The roads in the campground are narrow. All in all a nice place. I would come back if nothing else available.
Awesome, quiet, secluded RV park. Friendly owner, big dog area, great topography for kids to explore. Stayed in April and roof got pretty covered from trees. Not sure if stained or not, need to check. Glad to see recycling bins. Would definitely stay here again.
Tent campsites are pretty close together, but it was empty so not a problem for us. There was ice & firewood for sale. Nice campsite, close to white water rafting sites.
What a gem!! Don't be discouraged with the 3 mile uphill drive. Watch the signs, some are a little overgrown. This truly is one of the best parks we have found. No gorge wind. No trains! Conveniently located for gorge exploring. Awesome staff. Did I mention it is so quite? Level gravel sites. Lots of trees. Loved our stay.
Excellent campgrounds, beautiful setting and great camp host/owners we will definitely be back!
We arrived after closing without a reservation, and the owners were so accommodating. We have a 38’ Class A motorhome and they told us that if we were good backing in, to go to the site that would fit us. We’re experienced driving this rig, so there was no issue getting into the site and we had room to maneuver it well.
We took the Bridge of the Gods on the advice of other reviewers and it was a great route.
The showers are hot and clean, the owners are really nice, and the campground is very quiet and beautifully maintained. We’ll definitely be coming back!
